We're Off!

We managed to get our packing done in time to catch the bus to the airport. We were very tired, but happy to be on our way. So we kissed the cats goodbye. The day we left Portland it was very rainy and gray. We got to the airport in plenty of time to enjoy a nice sushi meal before our flight to San Francisco (our connection to Auckland).

When we got to the United counter we overhead a conversation between another ticket agent and two ladies headed off for a vacation. The agent asked, "are you going international?" One of the ladies responded, "no, we are going to Mexico." We didn't know that Mexico has become a state. We knew this trip was going to be educational.
